Civil War Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He was a Sergeant in the Union Army. He was awarded the Medal of Honor as a Corporal in Company M, 2d New York Cavalry for action on April 6, 1865 at Deatonsville (Sailor's Creek), Virginia.
