Indian Wars Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. He served as a Private in Company I, 4th US Cavalry. In the Muchague Valley of Texas, December 8, 1874, Private O'Sullivan was part of a squad in pursuit a ten Indians. When the Indians dismounted and took up positions to fire on the soldiers, Private O'Sullivan fought valiantly until only one enemy warrior remained and then unsuccessfully gave chase. For heroism, he was awarded the Medal of Honor. he has a Memorial marker at Fort Concho National Historic Landmark, San Angelo, Texas.
