Indian Campaigns Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient. Also known as Joseph Whitcome. He entered the US Army in Carlisle, Pennsylvania. He served as a Private in Company B, 8th US Cavalry. He was awarded the CMOH for action during August 13 and October 31, 1868 in the vicinity of the Black Mountains, Arizona Territory.
